
This candidate will report directly to the board of directors and the CEO.
This position would oversee branch locations and look to grow the bank both organically as well as through potential acquisitions. If experience matches the opportunity, they would begin to assist the CEO and take on some of their responsibilities, while possibly becoming a future successor in overall leadership.
Role Description:
This is a full-time on-site role for a Chief Lending Officer/Commercial Lender located in Manhattan, KS market. This is an excellent career opportunity for the right applicant, and salary is commensurate with experience.
The Chief Lending Officer will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial loans, analyzing financial statements, and making informed lending decisions. The individual will also be tasked with maintaining strong customer relationships, providing high-quality customer service, and ensuring compliance with SBA guidelines. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with other departments and contributing to the overall growth and success of the organization.
Duties:
The duties include but are not limited to the following:
- The Chief Lending Officer will be responsible for assisting in the growth and management of all branches
- Deposit and bookkeeping operations are supervised remotely by operations officers
- The Chief Lending Officer will lead by example and serve as the leading arm of the Bank.
- The Chief Lending Officer will be required to oversee loan policy and execute all loan activities that have been approved by the Board of Directors
- Attend loan meetings when required
- Underwrite and analyze credits
- Manage the collection activities within the portfolio and branch
- Maintain a role on the compliance committee
- Be responsible for quality control for underwriting, document preparation, document scanning and financial tracking
- Respond to loan reviews
- Respond to audits and exams
- Maintain visibility in the community to develop new business
Qualifications:
- Experience and skills in Underwriting and Loans
- Strong Customer Service and relationship management skills
- Knowledge of SBA guidelines and procedures
- Finance background and expertise
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field
- Proven track record in commercial lending
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing an existing loan portfolio, have the ability to build the structure and processes to scale and double the size of the organization. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have new business development skills. The preferred candidate will have proven experience in Leading banking institutions and experience with Commercial Real Estate, Commercial and Industrial Lending and Consumer Real Estate.
