Agriculture/Commercial Lender

Role Description:

This is a full-time on-site role for an Agriculture/Commercial Lender based in Atchison, KS.

The Agriculture/Commercial Lender will be responsible for evaluating, approving, and recommending loan applications for agricultural and commercial clients. Day-to-day tasks include conducting financial analysis, assessing credit risk, preparing loan documentation, and maintaining loan portfolios. The role requires meeting with clients to understand their financial needs, offering suitable loan products, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Strong relationship-building with clients and a thorough understanding of the agricultural sector are essential.

Duties:

• The Agricultural/Commercial Lending Officer will be required to learn the loan
• Attend weekly loan meetings
• Report directly to the Senior Lending Officer Underwrite and analyze credits
• Perform collateral inspections and prepare inspection reports
• Be responsible for quality control for underwriting, document preparation, document scanning and financial tracking
• Respond to loan reviews
• Respond to audits and exams
• Maintain visibility in the community to develop new business

This is not a remote position. The Agricultural/Commercial Lending Officer will be required to be physically in the main bank in Atchison.

Qualifications:

• Experience in financial analysis and credit risk assessment
• Knowledge in loan documentation and portfolio management
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Thorough understanding of the agricultural sector
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Prior experience in commercial lending is preferred

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing an existing loan portfolio of approximately $25 million dollars of loans.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have new business development skills.

The preferred candidate will have experience in Agricultural/Commercial Real Estate, Commercial and Industrial Lending, all types of Agricultural lending, and Consumer Real Estate.
