Chief Financial Officer position available in Atchison/Leavenworth, Ks!

A well‑established and growth‑focused financial institution, is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the bank’s financial strategy, performance management, and long‑term capital planning. This executive will serve as a key member of the leadership team, partnering with the CEO and Board of Directors to drive sustainable profitability, operational excellence, and regulatory strength.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Financial Management

  • Lead the development and execution of the bank’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, risk appetite, and growth objectives.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and long‑range planning.
  • Provide executive‑level insight into financial performance, trends, and opportunities to the CEO and Board.
  • Manage the bank’s capital planning, liquidity strategy, and balance‑sheet optimization.

Accounting, Reporting & Controls

  • Direct all accounting operations, including GL management, financial close, and internal controls.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee preparation of Call Reports, ALCO reporting, and other regulatory filings.
  • Maintain strong internal control frameworks and oversee internal/external audit relationships.

Risk, Compliance & Asset/Liability Management

  • Chair or play a key leadership role in ALCO, ensuring disciplined interest‑rate risk management.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Credit to maintain a strong governance environment.
  • Monitor economic, market, and regulatory trends impacting financial performance.

Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field required.
  • CPA, MBA, or Graduate School of Banking strongly preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally within a bank or financial institution.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and influencing executive‑level decision‑making.
  • Ability to work on-site in Leavenworth, KS
